The UK pop band Steps have announced the world premiere of HERE & NOW which is a brand-new musical using their iconic music. The show will open at The Alexandra, Birmingham for a limited engagement from 9 – 30 November 2024, prior to a West-End run.  More dates and casting are to be announced.

It's Friday night at the seaside superstore Better Best Bargains, where the vibe is right, and everyone is dancing in the aisles. But when Caz discovers the shelves are stocked with lies and betrayal, the summer of love she and her friends dreamed of suddenly feels like a tragedy.

Have they all lost their chance of a ‘happy ever after'?  Or does love have other plans in store…?

The cast will be led by Rebecca Lock (Elf, School of Rock, Heathers) as Caz McGovern, Hiba Elchikhe (The Time Traveller’s Wife, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Aladdin) as Neeta Thakkar, Basement Jaxx lead vocalist Sharlene Hector (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, A Strange Loop, Dreamgirls) as Vel King and Blake Patrick Anderson (Rent, Hair, Be More Chill) as Robbie Davies. Further casting will be revealed in due course.

Diected by the award-winning Rachel Kavanaugh (Half a Sixpence, The Great British Bake Off Musical) and written by Shaun Kitchener (Hollyoaks), HERE & NOW features many of their iconic hits, including ‘5, 6, 7, 8', ‘Stomp', ‘Better Best Forgotten',  and ‘Last Thing On My Mind'.

This brand new musical is produced by Steps, ROYO and pop legend Pete Waterman.
